6 Stars for the '6 House Pub

by Brian Jewett
(North Adams)

Visit the '6 House Pub for exceptional dining...

Dining in the Berkshires is strong in only one area, comfort food. If you want interesting ethnic food go to Los Angeles or NYC. You can find a few places here but the flavors and spices are toned down almost beyond recognition. Food here is generally under flavored and over priced. The one exception in the northern end is the '6 House Pub on Rt 7 just south of Williamstown. It serves the standard regional pub fare but the food quality is exceptional, the drinks generous, the atmosphere elegant but casual and amazingly enough, it's one of the more reasonably priced restaurants in the Berkshires. Their one weak spot must be marketing because hardly any of our friends know about it but they all become fans once we take them there.
