Home of Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival


Becket Massachusetts is a small town located in Southern Berkshire County.

This town is most well known for the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival which holds inside and outside performances (both ticketed and free). Free talks, special events and dance classes are also offered. And, guided and free self-guided tours of this National Historic Landmark may be taken. Or, you may view the exhibits that are on display.

Becket Arts Center also holds exhibits, lectures, workshops, and special events.


And, horse lovers will enjoy Sunny Banks Ranch. They offer lessons, trail rides, day camp, boarding, training, clinics, roping, ranch sorting, children’s summer day camp and more.


If you love spending time outdoors, October Mountain State Forest, the largest state forest in Massachusetts, is great for camping, non-motorized boating, fishing, hiking, hunting, mountain biking, off-road vehicle riding, cross-country skiing, and walking the trails.

And, Becket State Forest is great for hunting and fishing.

A day at the Becket Land Trust Historic Quarry and Forest for a self-guided walk through the Quarry is another activity available. And, you can view exhibits on display at the Mullen House Education Center. Or, hike or cross-country ski one of the many trails through the forest.


During the winter months, skiing, ice skating, snow shoeing, and lessons in both skiing and skating may be enjoyed at Canterbury Farm Ski Touring Center.


For those who love living in the outdoors, Bonny Rigg Campground is open year-round for your enjoyment.

And, there are summer camps for kids which include Camp Becket YMCA, Camp Chimney Corners YMCA, Camp Greylock, and Camp Watitoh.


If you are into swimming, boating or just looking to find a few good fishing spots, you will find several lakes and streams as well.
