Visit Bidwell House and Beartown State Forest

This restored historic Colonial period property includes the main house, grounds and hiking trails to explore. In the winter, Beartown State Forest is great for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling.
And, camping may be enjoyed year-round.
So, why not plan a picnic lunch and use the picnic tables that are provided. (There are restroom facilities for public use as well.)
After lunch you can take a walk around one of the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Healthy Heart Trails which follows a loop along Benedict Pond. And, as you walk, view the abundant wildlife along the trail.
Or grab a pole and bring it along to enjoy a day of fishing.
