West Stockbridge



A Beautiful Historic Town


West Stockbridge is a small town known for its history, arts, and natural beauty.


Those who have an interest in history and architecture will want to take an historic walking tour of the town where you can view a number of historic buildings, several of which are on the National Register of Historic Places.


And, if you are intersted in the arts, there are several galleries located in West Stockbridge that may be of special interest.

Margie Skaggs Ceramics offers one-of-a-kind Asian and Native American influenced stoneware or porcelain ware. These serve as both functional and decorative pieces. Her works have been exhibited in various venues in New York and Massachusetts.

Hoffman Pottery features beautiful contemporary works for decorative, garden, or every day use.

Inner Vision Studio is a wonderful rural studio featuring the original watercolors and photography of Karen Andrews.

And, Berkshire Center for Contemporary Glass allows you to view its works of art as well as its glassblowing exhibitions and actually participate in the glassblowing process.



Berkshire County is a place full of fun and adventure for the entire family. And, if you are looking for a place for your children to spend their summer vacation, there are numerous summer camps for kids located in the Berkshires. You will find two of these camps in West Stockbridge which cater to those of the Jewish faith.

Crane Lake Camp is a Jewish overnight and day camp for boys and girls grades 3 and up. They offer adventure and outdoor activities, athletics, arts and crafts, performing arts, water sports, field trips, Jewish life studies and special activities.

And for children with social developmental delays, Camp Chazak is a 7-day Jewish recreational and therapeutic overnight camp for children 9-13 years. They offer adventure and outdoor activities, athletics, arts and crafts, performing arts, water sports, field trips, Jewish life studies and special activities. These activities are modified based on the needs and size of the Chazak Community.


For those who love to fish, there are many fishing spots in the town including:
