Festivals and concerts held in Northern Berkshire County can be found at: 1040 Mass MoCA Way Mass MoCA presents numerous music festivals and concerts year-round with a wide range of venues to satisfy all tastes. 1000 Main Street Located on the Williams College campus, the ’62 Center for Theatre and Dance presents some of the best music, theatre, and dance events in the Berkshires. 111 Farnams Causeway Free concerts through July and August. Offer a broad range of music, featuring many local and regional musicians. Most are free of charge to the public. Williams College Williamstown Jazz Festival is held every spring on the Williams College campus with some of the festivities also being held at Mass MoCA in North Adams. Many of the events are free to the public. Lenox Town Hall Armstrong Chamber Concerts feature world-renowned musicians offering unique programs. Their concert season runs from October through June. Performances are held in various Berkshire locations throughout the year. Berkshires Jazz presents jazz performances and promotes jazz education throughout Berkshire County. 30 Wendell Avenue Berkshire Music School offers music education opportunities to people of all ages throughout the Berkshire community. They present “Cabaret-to-Go” group performances as well as other off-site student performances throughout the Berkshires. Open year-round. PO Box 34 Close Encounters With Music offers themed classical music chamber concerts presented by world-class musicians. PO Box 347 Berkshire Lyric Theatre is “a community of choral groups for adults, teens and children with the common goal of learning and mastering the art of choral music.” They perform at various venues throughout the Berkshire Area. 111 South Street/ Route 7 Colonial Theatre is a restored Gilded Age theatre/performing arts center presenting Broadway shows, live music, comedy, film, international music and dance, family programming, community events and more. It is open year round and handicap accessible. P O Box 23 South Mountain Concerts present chamber music concerts each year during early fall at the South Mountain Concert Hall. The 440-seat music hall was specifically designed for chamber music concerts and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings. And summer home of 297 West Street Off season mailing: Tanglewood Music Festival holds classical, pop, and jazz festivals and concerts from June through Labor Day. It is also the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Facilities include Seiji Ozawa Hall, the Shed with seating under the canopy, or the lawn. The lawn is the most popular place to enjoy a concert, but the Shed allows closer observation. Patrons are encouraged to bring food, wine, lawn chairs, and/or blankets to the performance. It is handicap accessible. Festivals and concerts held in Southern Berkshire County can be found at: Box 28 Aston Magna Festival is the nation's oldest annual summer music festival. It offers Baroque and early Romantic music through the use of historical instruments and practices. First Congregational Church Mail: Berkshire Bach Society offers Baroque music performed by the Berkshire Bach Society Singers and the Berkshire Bach Society Ensemble. Choral and instrumental performances are held at various locations throughout the Berkshire area year round. Musical selections are by J.S. Bach and those whom influenced his musical genius. 245 North Undermountain Road Berkshire Choral Festival provides the opportunity for choral singers to come together for eight weeks each year on a “singing vacation.” The singers rehearse and study for five weeks. Then spend three weeks performing choral masterpieces under the direction of world-class conductors in various cities in the US and Europe. Mail: Trinity Episcopal Church Cantilena Chamber Choir is a 24 voice “a cappella” chamber choir offering numerous festivals and concerts performed at various local venues throughout the year. Offering workshops and master classes, performance and training opportunities for community members and professionals. Performances held at various local venues mainly in the off-season. 14 Castle Street Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center is an historic theater offering year-round live events including music, theatre, dance, and family shows plus classic films and the Metropolitan opera “live in HD.” The Meeting House Music & More offers chamber music, readings, films, and art exhibits by renowned musicians, writers, actors, and artists from summer through fall.
